Most HVAC systems are designed to run all year long. With this rate of constant use, there are a couple of issues that could come up with your system. Here are a few examples of general problems you might encounter, as well as some suggestions for how to solve them:

The thermostat is the first thing to check if your furnace or AC isn’t kicking in – something might be off. You should check if the system has a fresh battery; some of the most recent and modern models are hardwired and do not require batteries. You should also confirm if the system is set on heating or cooling modes. If this does not work, it might be time to call an HVAC system pro like us.
When the fans are on and the HVAC system ought to be in cooling mode, but you are getting warm air, you should confirm that the registers in your home are open – this could be the first pointer to the challenge. Also, check the outside and make sure your unit isn’t covered with junk, weeds, or debris. Finally, switch out the air filter and let the system run for a while. If you are still not getting cold air, it’s time to reach out to us for a repair.
In the case that you are getting cold air instead of warm air, you should check the registers in your home first and then try switching out the air filters. If these do not help, you’ll want to contact a C & C HVAC Services technician.
